Whacky Real Estate Marketing Ideas

How about some bookmark love? :: delicious digg furl StumbleUpon Toolbar Google Bookmarks newsvine reddit spurl Technorati yahoo

Some may call them scams, some may call the ploys, but here are some whacky, albeit creative Real Estate Marketing ideas.

A while ago, I admitted to some other agents in my office that I was toying with the idea of creating a jingle to encorporate into my Real Estate podcast. I have to say that I did catch flak over it, but I also expected that I would. Say what you will, but no one says that Real Estate marketing has to be boring. Just ask the agents who boldly used COLOR in their newspaper print advertising. Bold indeed.

Speaking of Bold, how about if you buy a Realtor's house for him?

Damion Flynn Offers to have you buy his house for him through donations of course. I only wished that I had thought of the idea first. I just need 3.8 million friendly citizens and fans of this website to contribute a dollar. Put another way, if everyone in Chicago simply contributed, I'd be happy to pay tribute for their effort and generoisity by moving right to the beach.

It is not like the internet rejects such marketing tactics, it is just that you may need to offer more entertainment coupled with less begging. An interesting example in (non-Real Estate) marketing is Weffriddles this is a site which is a collection of pages that each host a different riddle. When you guess the answer incorrectly, you suddenly see the designer's affiliate marketing campaign presented under the guise of a 404 error page. Say what you will, but riddles are sticky and they are entertaining.

Speaking of sticky, Magnets USA will put just about anything you want into magnet form.

Maybe my open houses should be more entertaining. I'm pretty sure that "the Price is Right" could somehow be adapted to Real Estate.

Our Real Estate is Not Appreciating Quickly Enough, and Other Complaints for The Choir

If only we had a choir to sing about all of our citizen complaints here in Orange County. They could complain about how the real estate here in Orange County doesn't appreciate quickly enough.

That has already been done:

And likewise in Orange County It seems that the OC Register has already started holding auditions for our own complaints choir.

The Dark Horse of Real Estate Blogs

I have enjoyed status as a dark horse in the realm of real estate blogs.

Other bloggers as well as Agents have picked up my passion for technology and Real Estate. Pittsburgh Homes Daily listed the Laguna Niguel Real Estate Blog as one of the top 500 Real Estate Blogs to watch which is great fuel and encouragement to keep going. Part of what my blog provides is 1) Relevant Area and Real Estate Market Information

2) Analysis of the factors that effect the market, like construction, economics, and technology, of course.

As a Dark Horse in the Real Estate Blog scene, I enjoy being able to concentrate on producing quality posts. I don't focus on producing a large quantity of posts to try and whet the appetite of the Real Estate Blog Readership, just for the sake of doing so.

Hailed on Active Rain, and definitely not considered a Dark Horse is an associate of mine Bryant Tutas in Poinciana, Fla even has encouraged his wife to participate in Real Estate Blogs. She lists me as "Astonishing!" in her book. Thanks!

Talking about well known, Greg Swann over at Bloodhound Blog has upgraded his blog to a team blog. Bravo! Perhaps once I emerge from my blogging cave and permanently overcome my typer's cramp, (and writer's block) I can participate in a team blog.

The only reservation I have about that is a team blog is a natural extension of a greatly "seeded" blog with a massive and respected readership. It is an investment in time, but pays dividends of untold amounts for a long time to come.

Dana Point Renaissance

How about some bookmark love? :: delicious digg furl StumbleUpon Toolbar Google Bookmarks newsvine reddit spurl Technorati yahoo

Our Beach Neighbors in Dana Point, are aggressively pursuing a transformation for their city. The plans propose a town center, and that means increased opportunity for local businesses, as well as a projected boost in residential Real Estate values in the area.

Dana Point City

This transformation includes The Dana Point Headlands Project, with prime bluff-top homes now taking lot bids, a town center, increased transportation, and a proposed beachfront strand.

The net effect is that the city will approach a Newport-like feeling by using some major facelifts to dramatically raise the profile of the city.

What this means is that It is a great time to buy real estate in Dana Point

Most of all, I can't mention the Renaissance in Dana Point without also mentioning the place to be, is The Renaissance. Perhaps the restaurant owners knew the potential of the city far before anyone.
